Good catch! When I try to catch a woodpecker - they move to thte opposite side of the tree!
Good capture Bev... i have one that comes to the trees just outside my sunroom windows... and by the time i get out there with the camera... he's gone....petersmile

Fine shot - I had a friend who had to get permission to shoot one of these because it was waking everyone up at dawn by hammering on the aluminium siding of the house!
fine specimen. i have seen a documentary in which an entire family of them were residing on a single tree that had a thoroughly pockmarked front.
