Pietà - St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York City

Near St. Patrick's ornate Lady Chapel is this sculpture created in 1906 by American, William O. Partridge.  It is three times as large as Michelangelo's in the St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

Funny how it looks so small here Beverly, I am trying to imagine just how large it is.
A very good sculpture isn't it and so different to the sculpture of the same moment in history shown by Philine today.
