Well he is a brave one! Lovely capture, I like seeing the fish underneath!
Beverly Andrighetti: Thank you very much, Elizabeth. I wonder if the cardinal was confused seeing them swimming around under the ice.

I am shivering like his tail when I see that ice. Do you leave your fish out for the winter?
Beverly Andrighetti: Yes, amazingly, Mary, they do survive the winter even in that shallow water. When Spring rolls around it's always a relief to see them swimming around under the melting ice.
Nice....
Beverly Andrighetti: Much appreciated, Preyi.
I don't expect he hung around in there for very long. Do the fish cope with it alright? Well captured Bev
Beverly Andrighetti: There were several other cardinals around the pond as well, Janet, and they stayed for longer than I thought they would. The fish spend the winter under the ice and so far have survived the freezing temperatures. It's always a surprise to see them still alive as the ice melts in the Spring.

Awww. Having said that, I really like the mirror reflection!! Is that a goldfish to the right??
Beverly Andrighetti: Thank you so much, Bonnie. Yes, those are goldfish swimming under the ice.
A brave cardinal indeed Beverly! Fine capture with the fish.
Beverly Andrighetti: Thank you very much, Richard.
the scarlets stand out, both from the bird and the carp. that is one original angry bird smile
Beverly Andrighetti: Haha, I see what you mean, Ayush.
