Maybe thinking about raising a new brood?
Beverly Andrighetti: That might explain all the romancing I saw and posted for Valentine's Day, Chris.

Just eating roughage to get things going. Lovely shot.
Beverly Andrighetti: Haha, now that's another possibility, Louis. Thank you.

Squirrels use every opportunity to bring more of their dastardly selves into being. I believe they have more than one litter.
Beverly Andrighetti: We certainly have no shortage of them around here, Mary, so I suspect you are correct.
Or just bedding to keep warm. Lovely picture Beverly
Beverly Andrighetti: He certainly would need extra covers to cope with these winter temperatures, Bill.
Superb action picture Beverly!
Beverly Andrighetti: Thank you kindly, Richard; very much appreciated.

Perhaps the storms have battered his dray, Beverly - just maintenance?
Beverly Andrighetti: You could be right, Lisl; this has been a rather harsh winter.
Gathering fresh bedding? A lovely shot Beverly smile
Beverly Andrighetti: I wouldn't be surprised, Martin, as the temperatures have been very frigid.

It is amazing how you captured the squirrel at his activity. compostion and treatment are beautiful. In our newspaper I read that the squirrels in Europe (we know only red-brown ones) didn't have to work hard in this winter to get their food, because the grounds were not frozen, now they have good time to build their nests.
Beverly Andrighetti: I think the European squirrels are so much cuter than our grey ones, Philine. They remind me of characters created by the Disney Studios.

It looks like it has decided to eat it instead Beverly.
Beverly Andrighetti: Haha, yes, Louis suggested it was to add roughage to his diet.
He sure needs to Winterize this Canadian Winter eh Beverly? I hope he's toasty warm now.
Beverly Andrighetti: It must have been brutal for them, Jacquelyn. Hopefully, the temperatures will continue to get warmer as we go into March.
with all of the snow we're getting this year... he had to build a higher door to his nest... and soft layer of grass onto his bed Bev... great capture....petersmile
Beverly Andrighetti: Yes, the poor things have not had it easy this winter for sure, Peter. I bet they are looking forward to warmer conditions just as much as we are.
A love capture..looks like a painting?
Beverly Andrighetti: Not a painting, Ronky. Shot through a not-so-clean back window of my house, with a bit of treatment added.
