What a grand chap he is smile
Beverly Andrighetti: This is not a chap, Sally, but actually a she turkey. The chaps seem to be a lot more decorative.

Is Tina a pet??
Beverly Andrighetti: Tina was one of several turkeys belonging to the owner of the house we were staying in on Block Island, Chris. Only the males were in cages, the females, one of whom had baby chicks following her around, were free to roam the property as they pleased.
Waiting to be fed? I don't think I've come across a pet turkey before!
Beverly Andrighetti: Yes, she was looking for some treats and would take pieces of bread from your hand, Tom, but I'm not sure her owner would think of the turkeys he raises as pets really as they are sadly destined for the dinner table.
That's quite an image Beverly with your own inimitable treatment! smile
Beverly Andrighetti: Most kind of you to say, Fred. Thank you very much.
So funny! I hope he is in Canada. A turkey looking in a window in the US today might not be a great idea.
Beverly Andrighetti: Sadly, this is an American turkey, Mary. She was one of several that belonged to the owner of the house where we were staying on Block Island and I suspect that she may no longer be around to be looking in any window.

Perhaps its looking to see if if its time for it to get ready for Thanksgiving? Ah.. you have your Thanksgiving at at the different time to the Americans don't you?
You don't hear about turkeys being kept for eggs do. you. If she was destined for the table at least she had a good life first. Love seeing her nosing around Bev
Not a good time of year to be a Turkey.I like the picture though smile
Just checking if the oven has been turned on ! Brilliant capture.
